Thomas, the lead technician at Reliable, came to assess the problem with my gas heater. I received an estimate the very next day, approved it, and he installed the part the following day. Reliable Home Comfort fixed my old, problematic wall heater that had been an issue for as long as I've lived here (15 years). The technician was very polite, well-prepared, and in contrast to a previous technician I had hired from ANGIES LIST who had asked me for a screwdriver. The RHC technician went above and beyond to ensure there were no problems on the roof or in the attic. He was very respectful of our space and wore booties to cover his shoes. The company also communicated well throughout the process. Although I had to wait for some parts, since it's an old unit, it is now functioning properly. Thank you, Thomas!
The gas company recommended cleaning the soot from the heater because it had extinguished the pilot light. Instead, Reliable Home Comfort suggested replacing two parts at a significant cost. However, the pilot light was still capable of being lit, indicating that the soot was the root issue. After the technician left, I realized that they should have simply cleaned the pilot light, and if it went out again, I would have contacted the gas company to turn it off. This was a complete waste of money, and I am now left without any heat.
